OpenCFD hat die Version 2.0.1 des offenen CFD-Paketes OpenFOAM (Open Field Operation and Manipulation) veröffentlicht. Die neue Version bringt einige interessante Funktionen mit, darunter beispielsweise ein Pyrolyse-Modell.
OpenFOAM stellt die Basis für das auf die Simulation von brandinduzierten Strömungen spezialisierte FireFOAM dar.
Neben dem Sourcecode zum selber compilieren stehen Pakete für die Linux-Distributionen Debian (Ubuntu) und Suse zur Verfügung.

This could become very interesting how OpenFOAM will develop under a GNU license. I see a chance and risks.
