Die Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) verleiht im Rahmen der diesjährigen SFPE-Fachtagung den Rolf H. Jensen Award an Kevin McGrattan. Der Jensen Award wird Persönlichkeiten verliehen, die sich in selbstloser, besonderer und ungewöhnlicher Art und Weise und über die normalen Erwartungen hinweg für den Brandschutz ausgezeichnet haben.
Kevin McGrattan wurde nun u.a. für seine Arbeit als Entwickler des Programms Fire Dynamics Simulator am US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) ausgezeichnet. Darüber hinaus wurde sein Wirken im Rahmen der US Nuclear Regulatory Commission und der Mitarbeit an SFPE-Leitfäden und dem Standardwerk SFPE Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering gewürdigt.

In context of this years SFPE-Conference the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) awards the Rolf H. Jensen Award to Kevin McGrattan. The Jensen Award is confered to personalities, who are characterized in the field of fireprotection in a selfless, extraordinary and unique kind.
Amongst other reasons, Kevin McGrattan is awarded for his work as a developer of Fire Dynamics Simulator at US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Above this his succeedings in the field of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, SFPE-Guides and the definitive book SFPE Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering are getting valued.
